What's anyone doing for Halloween? I keep seeing posters for the Lucky Leprechaun, but I don't really like the idea of compulsory fangs. Costumes, fine, but I like my teeth as they are, thanks.

People always used to tell me that birthdays are less exciting as you get older and I never believed them, but it's true. This time next year I may have a grey hair or something. It doesn't bear thinking about. Today I am no longer a teenager, and one year closer to thirty. I know I should have a party or something, but quite frankly if I let more than three people in my flat at the same time I'll probably spend most of the evening passed out. Does anyone fancy tapas? There's a good place in Cumbria.

It’s all very well to announce the name of Pivot Alley with an elephantine fanfare, but what I want to know is how much these properties on the residential streets are going to cost. If I could move out of Slough and live somewhere closer to work, I would be very pleased. (I mean, really, Slough? It just sounds common and dirty, doesn’t it? It’s actually not bad, but having to tell people I live in Slough makes me want to take a shower.)
Did anybody read the Witch Weekly article on Quidditch players? Just for fun, how about a game of Cliff shag marry?
